Chris planned a beautiful surprise proposal for his girlfriend (now fiancé if you couldn't have guessed!) Danielle last Summer. He called me up to document the occasion and I could not have been more excited! It was a gorgeous day (despite the forecast of rain) and such a wonderful moment to witness. I still feel honored to have been a part of it off in the distance.
After the initial proposal, with all of the love and tears and (it might go without saying) a 'Yes' - the three of us walked around the beach and did a little engagement/portrait session. This photo session had a great double purpose, to capture a few great portraits of these two and to buy some more time. Danielle was unaware that while we were walking around on the beach, up the small hill at the Cork 'N Hearth their friends and family were gathering for part two of the surprise. We coordinated and synchronized and when the whole group was ready 'wandered' back over to where the restaurants balcony overlooks the beach. The moment Danielle saw everyone there waving and cheering was just as emotional as the initial proposal.
They walked up the hill and joined the others for a party to celebrate their new engagement! I can not wait to be a part of their wedding day later this year, see their family and friends again, and be at the next step in their romance. I hope you enjoy the photos below, they still make me smile!
