On a day like today, with the snow coming down and the wind whipping that snow right back onto the just shoveled driveway, who doesn't want to sit inside with a hot cup of cocoa (or cup of wine!) and a sweet treat? Maybe your ideal snow day is curled up in blankets with a good book or claiming the sofa to chain watch Friends on Netflix or just surfing around on the web and coming across this blog post! Whatever you're doing.. wouldn't a plate of these sweets at an arms length make it ten times better??

All of the goodies below can be found at Nina's Cookies in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts (which is right near the border for us Northern, Connecticut folks). And I have to say.. all of it is so so delicious! And I know because someone had to eat these sweets after this photo shoot! My family was also happy to help me with that job!

Below is just a small sample of what Nina's offers. They have Italian Cookies, Custom Sugar Cookies (great for parties and weddings!), Biscotti, Cupcakes, Muffins, Cakes, Pies, Fresh Baked Bread, Handmade Pasta, and more.. basically, once the snow clears up, you should head over there to check out their selection!

Mass MOCA Berkshire Wedding Tour Dinner :: North Adams, Ma :: Fire Roasted Catering Cocktail Hour and Dinner

Last week the Berkshire Wedding Tour welcomed a new group of wedding planners and bridal media to the area, touring a variety of wedding venues in the Berkshires (including Wheatleigh, The Kemble Inn, The Mount, Edith Wharton's Home, Hancock Shaker Village, The Berkshire Museum, The Red Lion Inn, Chesterwood, Norman Rockwell Museum, Naumkeag, Santarella, Gedney Farm, and Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club) and seeing what many of the areas professionals, from florists to photographers, have to offer.

The Berkshire Wedding Tour and the professionals who participate look to help promote the region and spread awareness about this premium wedding destination. As a part of the Berkshire Wedding Tour, I photographed the event hosted by Mass MOCA in North Adams, MA in their 19th-century renovated factory (on the National Register of Historic Places), which is now home to an ever-changing collection of exciting contemporary art. Mass MOCA provides a unique atmosphere, with dramatic and creative spaces, where you can customize the space to fit your vision for your wedding reception, ceremony, seated dinner, or other special occasion.

After touring Mass MOCA and seeing all of the possibilities for unique events, the group ended in the Sol LeWitt Building for cocktail hour followed by a beautiful dinner, all catered by Fire Roasted Catering, in the middle of the gallery and artwork. Everything was impeccably designed by Eutopia Events with the help of local vendors (Classical Tents & Party Goods, Rob Alberti Event Services, Badger's Flowers & Co., and Megan Chapin Calligraphy) and it was an informative, artistic, delicious evening.

Tissue Paper Poof Decoration Tutorial :: Bonnie Aunchman Styling

Today, in honor of my friend Bonnie from Aunchman Styling, I wanted to share a tutorial with you on creating an easy and fun decoration with tissue paper. Making a few of these poofs in various complimentary colors can really liven up a party space and they aren't too hard to make! This one has rounded edges but you could also experiment with other cuts to give the edges other shapes.

After lying a few pieces of tissue paper out flat together, Bonnie folded the paper into an accordion pattern. Then she secured the middle and cut the edges to be rounded. After that it just takes a bit of patience to open the accordion folded paper up and give it some life. Rita Welch Catering :: Bunny Williams Home and Gardens :: Fundraiser for the Berkshire Botanical Gardens

A couple weeks back I was able to photograph the most delicious food at an incredible residence and surrounding gardens. Bunny Williams hosted The Berkshire Botanical Garden's fundraising event Cocktails in Great Gardens which was catered by Rita Welch Catering. I was just in awe of Bunny Williams sense of style and how beautiful the grounds at her home are. It was such a perfect setting for any kind of gathering, especially one supporting the Berkshire Botanical Gardens, and Rita's food circulating at the event was so mouth wateringly beautiful to match!
