Wedding Photography is so much more than cataloging the beautiful flowers and killer shoes. Don't get me wrong, I am in awe of the gorgeous heels you rock the whole day and the gravity defying floral arrangements. Those details matter because you chose them be a part of your celebration.
But Wedding Photography is about the story. Your story. The whole picture. That includes those adorable details and glittering centerpieces. But those only have meaning because they are a part of the moments you share. The never-ending hug at your First Look. The happy tears as you come down the aisle. The first kiss.
A celebration of your love. Families coming together and becoming one family. Your Family.
I come back to this photo fairly often. I feel the love here. The tension in this father's hands as he hugs his son. I remember the way the son's voice cracked as he tried to give a toast. So few words even made it out but the whole room could feel it. I'm tearing up now just thinking about that moment! Can you imagine how they feel when they see this photo? When they look at it again in twenty years?
Wedding Photography is about communicating love. Reminding you of what you felt. Prompting your heart to swell as you look at your album or that one photo of that one moment you stole away together and you feel it all again. It lets you share those memories with others, with your children, so that it all comes alive again so many years later.
