Aria Spring Wedding in Prospect, CT :: Black Tie, Formal Chinese Wedding :: Julia & Robert

There's a light that just shines through with these two. On top of just being sweet people, gracious and thoughtful in all of our interactions, they are so open and were willing to trust in the crazy process that can be wedding photography. There wasn't a single thing I suggested that they weren't up for with a smile.. even a request for a 'serious expression' was met with laughs!

Julia and Robert really value family and tradition. And their wedding incorporated a fun and meaningful mix of formal custom, personal history, and playful touches in everything from the decor to their plans throughout the day. During their wedding ceremony they incorporated a traditional tea serving ritual, offering tea to each of their parents to show their respect and gratitude. It was beautiful to watch as each was served followed by huge, heartfelt hugs. At their reception, dancers during dinner entertained with a number of cultural dance performances complete with bright, colorful traditional attire. This couple also showed their love for their Alma Mater with an appearance by two UCONN huskies at cocktail hour. IfJulia and Robert weren't looking so great (just look at them and those smiles!) those pups could've really stolen the show! Needless to say, it was an incredible day and I'm excited to share photos from it with you here!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the beautiful, nurturing, incredible mothers out there. To all of the great people this title represents. To the moms, grandmothers, step moms, aunts, foster moms, sisters, and anyone I missed. To the ones who were there for us for in the little moments, the bedtimes, the scraped knees, the great accomplishments, the scary nightmares, the doctor's visits, and more. And the ones we know that we can count on to be there for us in all of the good and bad moments ahead.

And most of all.. to my mother. My role model. The person who has always demonstrated to me what unconditional love looks like. A woman who is strong, intelligent, and loving. Who finds out that your dining room chair is broken and without missing a beat tells you she's taking it home to fix. Who supports my sister and I in following our hearts and handling our fears. Who made sure we knew that we can always come to her, that we can always come home. The most beautiful woman I know. I love you.

Happy Mother's Day!
