Kristin and John were married last Summer. The forecast predicted rain for weeks and we were prepared with our backup plans and extra umbrellas. But it turned out, we didn't need them. It was a beautiful day.. in Kristin and John's eyes it was a perfect day. With or without the sunshine and blue skies it would've been perfect for them though, because they both got to marry the person they love that day.
Kristin shared her thoughts and feelings about their wedding day below, so you can hear about it all it in her own words!
How/why did you choose the Waterview for your reception?
We saw a few and just loved the view from the Waterview. The lake and all the beautiful flowers they have along with the trees looked perfect! We also liked how attentive the staff was at the Waterview and how quickly the answered any questions we had. They were also accommodating with anything we wanted to change or alter.
What were your top three favorite or most memorable moments from your wedding day?
1. Walking down the aisle
2. Entering the reception
3. Getting ready with all my girls
Did anything go wrong or not as expected that day?
We were slightly late to the church because our limo company's bus wasn't allowed on a parkway. That pushed everything back a little and our guests went into the reception area early.. thankfully the Waterview allowed them to!
Knowing what you do now, would you have done anything differently?
No, I loved every second of that day and I can't think of one thing I would change.
Did any of your vendors go above and beyond for you?
I feel all our vendors went above and beyond. Many of our family members complimented Michelle and her ability to get everyone where they needed to be and quickly, even with it being such a hot day. Our DJ was able to find a different version of an entrance song for one of our friends to come into the reception for us. The Waterview allowed my mom to order a hors d'oeuvre station that wasn't even on their menu. So many people had a big hand in making this day the absolute best for us!
What was the biggest surprise on your wedding day?
How extremely warm it was and how it didn't rain at all even though rain was in the forecast and had been all week. And how many people came to church for us. It was packed in there!
Why did you choose Michelle to be your wedding photographer?
I loved her personality and how well she worked with us. She was funny and kept us laughing and her attention to detail was amazing! Another compliment from my family was given relating to the way she took photographs and how the focus captured special moments while getting the backgrounds in some and blurring the backgrounds artistically in others.
What was/is your favorite photo moment?
My favorite photo memory was when we were trying to get one of John and I kissing with my leg popped in the back and I kept sinking into the grass and falling over. We didn't quite get that shot, but the one that we did get in that location remind me of that picture and how fun taking all of our photos was. I also love all the pictures of everyone dancing because it shows them having a great time!
What’s up next for you as a couple?
Right now we are enjoying being married and getting settled into our house. We got married and bought a house during the same summer last year and it was a very hectic time so now we're taking time to organize and get settled into our life together!
What advice would you give to another couple getting married?
Everything will not go exactly as planned and you may have to make changes along the way in your planning and what you want. But focus on the important thing, you are marrying the person you love and you want to be with for the rest of your life, and everything will end up perfect.
And enjoy every moment of your day because it will go by quickly! You'll remember everything that happens, but it flies by so make sure to be in the moment and enjoy yourself so you can look back and be happy with it!
